CloudByte Innovations ("we," "us," or "our") operates CloudByte Flow, a Kanban project management application available at flow-kanban.netlify.app and through cloudbyteinnovations.com/flow ("the Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.

 

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you register for or use the Service, we may collect:

       Email address (used to create and identify your account)

       Password (stored in hashed form; we never store plaintext passwords)

       Content you create, including board names, task titles, task descriptions, tags, and comments

       Payment information submitted during checkout (processed by Stripe � see Section 3)

 

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

We may collect limited technical data when you access the Service, including:

       IP address and general geographic region

       Browser type and operating system

       Pages visited and actions taken within the Service (e.g., board creation, task updates)

       Session timestamps and authentication events

 

1.3 Information from Third Parties

We use the following third-party services that may collect or process data on our behalf:

       Supabase (database and authentication) � stores your account data and board content

       Stripe (payment processing) � handles subscription billing; we do not store your card details

       Netlify (hosting) � serves the application and may log access requests

 

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

       Create and manage your account

       Provide, operate, and improve the Service

       Process subscription payments and manage billing via Stripe

       Enable real-time collaboration features (board sharing, live sync)

       Send transactional emails such as account confirmation, password reset, and billing receipts

       Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents

       Comply with legal obligations

 

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising or share it with advertisers.

 

3. Payment Processing

All payment transactions are processed by Stripe, Inc. When you subscribe to a paid plan, you are redirected to a Stripe-hosted checkout page. CloudByte Innovations does not receive or store your credit card number, CVV, or full billing address.

Stripe may retain your payment information in accordance with their own Privacy Policy, available at stripe.com/privacy. Your subscription status and Stripe customer ID are stored in our database to manage your plan.

 

4. Data Storage and Security

Your account data and board content are stored in Supabase, a cloud database provider with servers located in the United States. We apply the following security measures:

       Row-level security (RLS) policies ensure you can only access your own data

       All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption

       Passwords are hashed using Supabase Auth (bcrypt)

       Authentication tokens are short-lived and rotated on each session

 

No security measure is 100% foolproof. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

 

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:

       Your boards, tasks, and profile data are permanently deleted from our database

       Payment records may be retained by Stripe for their legal and compliance purposes

       Certain logs may be retained for up to 90 days for security and fraud prevention

 

6. Sharing and Disclosure

We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

       Service Providers: With Supabase, Stripe, and Netlify as necessary to operate the Service

       Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or government authority

       Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you

       Protection of Rights: To protect the safety, rights, or property of CloudByte Innovations, our users, or the public

 

Board sharing features within the Service are controlled entirely by you. When you share a board with another user, that user can view or edit the board as per the role you assign.

 

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

       Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you

       Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data

       Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data

       Portability: Export your board and task data in JSON format from within the app

       Objection: Object to certain types of data processing

8. Cookies and Tracking

The Service uses cookies and local browser storage for the following purposes:

       Authentication: To maintain your logged-in session

       Preferences: To remember your last active board and UI settings

       Security: To detect and prevent unauthorized access

 

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings, which will log you out of the Service.

 

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

 

10. International Users

CloudByte Flow is operated from Michigan, United States. If you are accessing the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

 

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice within the Service at least 7 days before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after any change constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
